So this actually was a bigger project than I thought it would be, and my partner helped me a lot, but I’m very pleased with how it turned out! The roof and floor we wood stained and I bought the fake succulents at Target as they were not included. I’m not sure I’d by this for a child younger than middle or highs school age, it personally felt like an adult craft.
The instructions were great. It did take a couple hours to put together, but I decided to paint first then assemble.The paint will do just shy of 2 coats on the roof and bottom.Plenty to do the smaller pieces.The silicone glue gets stringy, seems to hold only time will tell though.It seems solid, the screws hold tight.Amazingly they send ALL of what you need to put it together. All the screws, dowels and the Allen Wrench.There is plenty of rocks if you wanted to put them on the floor or . . . .This is a cute design, enjoy the family time.
The first thing that caught my eye was the mid-century modern design of this birdhouse. I mean, where can you find that? We were sitting at the table and his mom promptly snatched this from my grandson saying this one is for me to do. The pieces are well cut, and the cedar smells the way cedar should. There are plenty of rocks to do the fireplace, and the instructions are really laid out nicely. This was a big hit, and I will try to remember to post pictures when it is done. It will be kind of hard to put it outside and expose it to the elements, because it is so cute. But it would be pretty cool to see a bird sitting outside this house.
This bird house is truly do it yourself. If you are looking for a project you can customize, this is for you. The kit contains everything you need, but a child will need assistance. I like that it includes a sealant to make it waterproof.

I got this for my father in law. He has arthritis in his hands and needed something to keep his hands moving and limber. This worked great for him. He has fat fingers and we both laughed when he went to glue the rocks on the board but he enjoyed himself with this project.
We got this birdhouse kit for our 11-year-old grandson and he loved it. The wood is very nice quality and all of the materials and tools needed to build it are included.The style of the birdhouse is somewhat unique, especially having mini-planters on the roof and real stone covered walls. Glue is included to attach the stones to the walls. The house has one clear plastic wall on the side of the cavity where birds nest, and a hinged panel on the opposite side that allows for easy cleaning of the nest interior.This is not a birdhouse that you would typically hang on a rope or chain. You could screw it onto a fairly level branch, or, as in our case, mount it on a post.Overall we were impressed with the quality and design of the birdhouse and our grandson had fun building it.
This is a really fun birdhouse! I bought a modern style, premade one a couple years ago in a store and this style is the perfect match to it!! ^_^

Bought this for my teenage daughter as a craft & plant activity over the summer. It is stinkin' cute!
This is a fun kit. I got it because of the rock wall and the fun modern look to it. It has a lot of little details that are a good introduction to elements of model making and could be a stepping stone for getting someone interested in making mini landscapes.The elements of the kit that I received are good quality and look like the product photos.I'm using the kit as a base and altering the design to make it more spooky and Halloween themed. I have a mini skull mold and am making little skulls to put on the wall instead of rocks and I'm going to put little gravestones in the gardens instead of plants. I'll be using my own paint as well to paint it black, purple, and red. The elements from the kit that I don't use will get used in other crafts. The stones from the wall are perfect for my fairy gardens.I'll try to remember to update with photos after I finish my spooky birdhouse.

My 8 year old daughter built this birdhouse for her mother as a birthday gift. She spent a couple of hours on it including painting and was so proud to give it to her. The birdhouse is very nicely designed and comes with some decent materials to put it together. I found the instructions to be very helpful and everything needed was in the box.This is a nice project for anyone who likes to build things and especially for someone who likes birds and plants.

I wanted to get open of these to do with my little brother when he comes to visit. As a beginner woodworker myself I was VERY impressed! When you open it the first thing you notice is the smell of the real cedar wood and it has all of the pieces you need, including the sandpaper and pretty good instructions. I highly recommend this kit and will be buying more for future kid guests to keep them busy with something other than tv.
